Disclosure: This post is in collaboration with SkinActives, the products were sent to me by the brand, but my thoughts on them are absolutely genuine and true.
Lately, I have been indulging in skin care products. I am not really a skincare junkie, but I can see myself moving in that direction. The first thing I notice in my skin condition during the change of season is acne and breakouts. I started my morning and night skincare routine with Skin Actives to address this issue. Read on to know what I feel about the Skin Actives acne clearing range.
STEP 1: Salicylic Face Wash
This is the very first step of my morning routine, The face wash feels quite watery and doesn’t really lather up due to which it’s a bit of a task to work with it… Apart from that, it’s quite gentle and doesn’t really dry out the skin.
STEP 2: Cranberry Moisturizing Serum
The serum smells of fresh cranberries. I have a fondness for skincare products with berries so this is my favorite. This has a good consistency to work with (unlike the facewash). I love the fact that it gets easily absorbed into the skin and also acts as a primer for your makeup as it helps tighten pores. It is moisturizing to some extent but if you have dry or combinational skin, you would need additional moisturization.
STEP 3: Daily Defense Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF 30
This is the third and the last step in my morning skincare routine. I make sure to apply a moisturizer with sunscreen during the day. There are so many things I love about this product. The packaging is amazing… I love it when creams come in pump packaging, apart from that, the cream feels really light and refreshing. It gets quickly absorbed into the skin and doesn’t feel very oily.
If you are neglecting a regular night skincare routine, you are definitely harming your skin. It is utmost essential to sleep with your makeup removed thoroughly and have your skin nicely moisturized. Here are the steps I follow.
STEP 1: Remove Makeup
I like to use makeup remover or micellar water to remove my makeup. One of the major cause of acne or breakouts is sleeping with your makeup on and I have noticed waking up with a zit whenever I don’t remove my makeup at night. Since the Salicylic face wash doesn’t help take off makeup, I do this as a separate step.
STEP 2: Salicylic Face Wash
After taking off my makeup, I like to wash my face with salicylic face wash, this is a second cleansing step and really helps in achieving cleaner skin.
STEP 3: Vitamin A Serum
This product helps clean pores and has anti-aging properties. Its texture is similar to the cranberry serum and is really easy to work with. I love how quickly it spreads and gets absorbed into the skin.
STEP 4: Zit Ender
Once the vitamin A serum is completely absorbed by the skin, I then apply the zit ender over the target areas. It is supposed to reduce redness and minimize blemish overnight. In my opinion, this is not very effective. I don’t see this performing what it claims.
Step 5: ELS or Hyaluronic Acid Cream
This is the most relaxing step. I use Hyaluronic Acid Cream 5 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) and on the other two days (Tuesday and Friday) I use Every Lipid Serum instead of Hyaluronic Acid Cream. ELS has an oily consistency, and Hyaluronic Acid Cream is a good moisturizing and light textured cream.
ELS Price: $20.00
Hyaluronic Acid Cream Price: $15.00
I could definitely see visibly better skin within 2 days itself which I think is remarkable! The acne and blemishes did start fading away. These products all together have helped reduce my acne to a great extent. You can buy their products HERE.
