Maybelline Master Contour Palette Review

Maybelline Master Contour Palette Review

Palettes are my favorite! Most brands recently have come up with amazing face palettes. I got one from Maybelline and it’s in the shade 10 (Light to Medium), they also have a variant for medium to deeper skin tones which is numbered 20. I have been using the Maybelline Master Contour Palette for some time now and here is what I think…

Maybelline Master Contour Palette Review

Packaging

The shape and size of this palette is same as the maybelline nudes collection palette (the nudes, the blushed, nudes, the rock nudes…) which I think is superb for the fact that it is extremely compact and travel friendly and of course maintains a symmetry in your palette corner.

It comes with 3 pans, with the purpose and order of use defined on it. It clearly states 1. Contour, 2. Blush, 3. Highlight, also at the back of the palette, there are clear instructions for the usage which makes it really user friendly.

It also comes with a brush which I will only use as an eyeshadow blending brush. Unfortunately it’s absolutely not suitable for the intended purpose. Again there isn’t any mirror which is so sad.

Pigmentation

Contour

The contour shade worked really well for me. It’s highly pigmented and easily bendable.  I like using it along the jaw line, slightly beneath the cheeks and along the nose. It does a good job in sculpting  the face.

Blush

I really loved the pretty pastel pink tone they have given to the blush. It is perfectly wearable, super pigmented and again blends really well. The contour and the blush duo is my favorite in this little black box.

Highlighter

I had high hopes here but unfortunately I feel this is the downside to the palette. The highlighter doesn’t have any gleam to it. Even upon building it upto 4 layers, a faint glow is all that you get. I prefer using it over a cream highlighter or on the eyelids.

Price

$9.99 to $12.99 (I saw it for $9.99 at Walmart and $12.99 at Rite Aid)

Rating

3/5

Why it couldn’t make 5/5?

  1. The highlighter isn’t fierce enough.
  2. The brush that comes along fails miserably
  3. The packaging lacks a mirror
