Nothing can be as annoying as those eyeshadow fallouts!! Doing your makeup neatly is as important as choosing the right products, color combination, and techniques. Especially if you are choosing a bold eye makeup look, you definitely need to pay special attention to making it neat and clean. Here are some simple tips that work really well for me and I personally use every time.
We are not very far from the onset of wedding season. I am so thrilled to share with you all some really useful makeup looks. I love opting blingy looks when I am going out to attend weddings, I just feel that’s the best time to bring those glitters in action.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was all about catching up with pending tasks… this week is surely going to be serious blogging. Lots of posts coming your way 🙂
Lately, I have been loving a lot of gold and bling looks. I created this one with lots of gold and a pop of turquoise and I can already tell from your response on my Instagram post that you guys loved it!! This was intended to be up last week itself but my video editing software refused to cooperate!
A deep plum makes an amazing eye shadow and suits quite a lot of skin tones. This is one of my favorite eye shadow shade. Here is a look that I created using a deep plum eye shadow and some glitter. It’s a perfect look for evening outings, parties or weddings. I have tried to make tutorial extremely simple. Hope you enjoy watching!
Bronze can be a very interesting option when choosing a smoky eye effect. It gives the required drama without being exaggerated. Also one thing to be kept in mind is, a smoky eye is paired best with a soft pastel lip shade, can be glossy, matte or creamy. In this look, I have paired soft bronze smoky eyes with a creamy nude brown lip shade.
For the eyes I have used the quad from ‘The Nudes Palette’ from Maybelline, reviewed here.
For the face, As usual uses a sheer coverage for a more natural look. I absolutely detest a veneer of foundation or compact, the reason for which I use it is to give a finish and control oil or shine on my face, absolutely NOT to redefine my complexion.
For the lips I used a shade created and invented my ME 😀 (I mixed all the leftovers and got this beautiful shade), but I can help you find a dupe of it, its Maybelline (yes maybelline again! I am such a Maybelline Lover! I hope they notice this and start sending me free makeup 😛) Totally Toffee Lipstick, you can use it for a very similar look.
Summers are my absolute favourite for the fact that all the colours are at my disposal and I have the power to use them in anyway! Here is a quick summer makeup which is quite colourful and gives a fresh bright look.
Coloured eye-liners have always been my obsession. They instantly add an exciting twist to your makeup. The eyeliner I am wearing here is Maybelline Colossal Kajal in the shade Crushed Emerald. Though the colour is attractive and beautiful, but the fact that the product smudges after a few hours and doesn’t retain the sharp neat look, disappoints me. Otherwise it can be happily worn for a few (4-5) hours.
One of the base I often use for summers is the Loreal Liquid Powder which is reviewed here. I really like it for summers for its all-day-shine-free look.
The lip colour is from one of my favourite range, the Lakme Gloss Addict Lipstick in the shade Coral Lustre, reviewed here. This range is all about sheer translucent shades which work so well during summers (well, even winters!). You must have one of the shade from this range. It’s a must have!
A detailed list of products used in this look are listed below.
Spring has arrived and so has the spring make-up trend! Of course there is no such rule book that says what shades to wear and what not to wear. Generally speaking, light make-up goes quite well during this time. If you are bored of pinks or peaches and want to bringing in a twist, yet maintain the subtle, soft fresh look… Mauve is the shade for you! Though not a very universal shade but yes a soft mauve makeup can be worn with quite a number of options like black, grey, purple or silver.
Here is how I chose to wear it for a day outing. I paired soft matte mauve lip shade with a glitter mauve winged liner (was too bored with the black-liner routine) and used highlighter for the extra dewy look. I was happy with the overall look and I am sure would suite most of you.
I do have quite a few nude beigish-pinkish-brown lipsticks and glosses but a pure “Brown” is not what I prefer. I am more of a “pink-peach” Lover.
For a change I did bring in “Mysterious Mocha”, a creamy matte lipstick from Maybelline (I have reviewed this range here) and well I was quite impressed! Though still not a very big fan! Brown, somehow I feel makes you look dull. In order to prevent myself from looking dull and boring, I wore this pretty mocha shade with a neutral eye-shadow, thick black eye-liner and not-so-heavy face make-up, and I quite liked it. I think the look can be carried off quite well for day or night outings.
If you too are not very fond of a “brown” lipstick but want to wear it and are not sure how to carry it, this can give you a few ideas.
Red and Gold is an ever classic combination and the safest to play with when getting decked up for a close wedding and want to choose a dramatic look. For this classic red gold makeup, I chose to pair glitter gold eye make-up with a bold red matte lip color. Since the two shades spoke for themselves, I kept a loose hand at the blush. A highlighter is inevitable!
I have been experimenting a lot with various looks and hairdo this wedding season, and have yet another look for you to try. This look is a soft coral wedding makeup. It works best with coral/ navy blue outfits.
Not many colours used here! You can also opt for this look when you want to go light on your makeup or simply want to give your self a break from the face paint! I paired it up with a half-tied-out curls hairdo, made from a flat Iron.
