KIKO MILANO completed their 20 years of beauty in 2017, that is such a big milestone to achieve! It launched in India in 2016 and is spreading globally. I got gorgeous lipsticks and nail polishes from KIKO, which are worth sharing. I haven’t tried any of their products till now, extremely excited to try these on. I will be sharing a review soon.
Makeup is a great way to unleash your creativity. I like to experiment and play with my makeup. This blog is depicting how to use your lipstick creatively and make it wearable for every occasion. A red lipstick which is often mistaken to be restricted to parties or weddings can surprisingly also be your best mate for a no makeup look. You can find out how in the video below.
You can never ever go overboard with a black eyeliner, I think it’s the most commonly used cosmetic around the world… And why not, a black eyeliner is something that fits very well in every occasion, be it an everyday look or the dramatic bridal look, a black eyeliner is what most of us reach for to complete the effect. My favorite liquid black eyeliners are the ones which have a pen sort of applicator. That makes the application so quick and mistake proof. Here is a detailed review of the Milani Eye Tech Perfection Eyeliner.
The packaging reminds me of The Curve Eyeliner by NYX , It has a curved body to give a better control over the application. The felt tip allows you to create a thin, medium or a heavy line, as you desire! It’s extremely comfortable to hold, beginners would love it for sure. Talking of the down side, I faced slight issue working on a winged liner with this felt tip applicator, I wish it was slightly more flexible.
Quality & Texture
The product claims to give a full color definition in one stroke, well… that isn’t really true, I need to coat 2-3 times to get a deep pigmented black line.
It gives a matte black finish, which is how I like my eyeliner to be.
Another good thing is, It dries quickly as you apply, you wouldn’t need to sit for long with your eyes closed, which is a common case with most of the liquid eyeliners. Also it saves a few extra minutes getting ready.
The product isn’t waterproof, it is some what water resistant. It smudges easily on oily lids, so if you have oily lids, this is not the right product for you, if you don’t, make sure not to apply moisturizer on your eyelids as a part of your daily moisturizing routine.
It lasts for good 8 hours if you have powdered your eyelids prior application, else it stays well for about 6 hours.
Why it couldn’t make 5/5?
- The pen felt tips makes application along the ends slightly difficult, I wish it was more flexible.
- It smudges easily if you apply a regular moisturizer on your lids, or have oily lids naturally.
Soft Makeup is best worn during summers, it makes the skin look fresh and breathable. Here is a look for a soft summer party makeup comprising of soft mauves and some jazz with glitter on the eyes. It can be worn best during the day and you can always turn it to a night makeup by adding in some false lashes if you desire or maybe a deep berry lipstick.

A black liquid liner is one of my makeup essential. Wet n Wild has some really exciting products at a very reasonable price. In my very first New York drugstore makeup haul, I picked up a few wet n wild products, megaliner being one of them. I tried it for a month and the experience was not so pleasant. 1 month of trying every possibility to develop liking towards it, failed miserably! It now rests in one corner and will come back in action god knows when! Anyway, hare is what I think about the product.
This comes in a sleek black packaging. The applicator is one of the best eyeliner applicator. It helps you create your desired look effortlessly. (**At this point I was happy and proud of my choice.) This is one of the best thing the product has… A perfect applicator!
Coming to pigmentation, it’s super amazing. You get the blackest black line in one swipe which dries in no time leaving a deep matte black line. Must say, it’s pigmentation is the second best thing about the product.
Quality & Wearability
The product claims to waterproof, but that is absolutely not the case. It smears as soon as it comes in contact with even the tiniest water droplet. It smudges easily, and you are left looking like a panda! Here is a list of DOs and DON’Ts for this liner
- DO NOT wear this liner on a snowy day!
- DO NOT wear this liner on a rainy day!
- DO NOT wear this liner if you know you are going to have a hearty laugh!
- DO NOT , absolutely DO NOT wear this liner on your wedding day!
- DO NOT wear this liner on a sunny day!
- You can wear this liner if you are going to be indoors and can be poker face all day.
- You can wear this liner if you are filming a makeup tutorial and know that you have to wash it off in no time.
Why it couldn’t make 5/5?
- It smudges as soon as it comes in contact with water.
- Gets washed away from the inner and outer corners of the upper lid very soon
Exploring makeup brands is one of my favorite thing! e.l.f cosmetics caught my eye recently and I was compelled to give it a try. The products look quite good and they seem to cover almost everything in a price range that your wallet would never mind. I enjoyed my mini makeup haul from elf cosmetics and would love to share it with you all. The products are still under observation, so the reviews will follow soon enough. Meanwhile you can enjoy the ride through my elf cosmetics haul!
e.l.f Tinted Moisturizer
I was running out of a tinted moisturizer and this was a good chance to pick a new one. I picked the shade named ivory, it’s an exact match to my skin tone.

I have been quite particular about my eyebrow routine ever since bold brows trend flooded in. Though I am still in love with my all time favourite Maybelline Fashion Brow Pencil, trying something new is always fun!

How can one not pick a peppy bright lipstick to officially welcome spring!!?? I just had to follow the ritual and loved my new pick Flirty Flamingo which is a perfect blend of red pink and coral.

Peach and coral are my favorite shades this season… let me know yours in the comments section below 🙂
Palettes are my favorite! Most brands recently have come up with amazing face palettes. I got one from Maybelline and it’s in the shade 10 (Light to Medium), they also have a variant for medium to deeper skin tones which is numbered 20. I have been using the Maybelline Master Contour Palette for some time now and here is what I think…
The shape and size of this palette is same as the maybelline nudes collection palette (the nudes, the blushed, nudes, the rock nudes…) which I think is superb for the fact that it is extremely compact and travel friendly and of course maintains a symmetry in your palette corner.
It comes with 3 pans, with the purpose and order of use defined on it. It clearly states 1. Contour, 2. Blush, 3. Highlight, also at the back of the palette, there are clear instructions for the usage which makes it really user friendly.
It also comes with a brush which I will only use as an eyeshadow blending brush. Unfortunately it’s absolutely not suitable for the intended purpose. Again there isn’t any mirror which is so sad.
The contour shade worked really well for me. It’s highly pigmented and easily bendable. I like using it along the jaw line, slightly beneath the cheeks and along the nose. It does a good job in sculpting the face.
I really loved the pretty pastel pink tone they have given to the blush. It is perfectly wearable, super pigmented and again blends really well. The contour and the blush duo is my favorite in this little black box.
I had high hopes here but unfortunately I feel this is the downside to the palette. The highlighter doesn’t have any gleam to it. Even upon building it upto 4 layers, a faint glow is all that you get. I prefer using it over a cream highlighter or on the eyelids.
$9.99 to $12.99 (I saw it for $9.99 at Walmart and $12.99 at Rite Aid)
Why it couldn’t make 5/5?
- The highlighter isn’t fierce enough.
- The brush that comes along fails miserably
- The packaging lacks a mirror

We have already stepped in the cold months of the year.. It’s time for some socks, gloves and bright lipsticks! In this post I shall try my best to help you pick right products and shades for your perfect winter makeup.
Before we proceed, a quick glance at the warm and cool tones. During winters it’s a good idea to stay in the warm tone territory.
Winter Makeup Guide
- Opt for BB and CC creams over mattifying foundations to avoid dry patches. These creams provide a higher degree of miniaturization to the skin, which is exactly what you want.
- For Blush, use a warm tone blush, such as peach or coral.
- If choosing bright shades, opt for more of oranges or reds (with orange undertones), or deep purple.
- If choosing light/ nude shades, caramel, peach, coral can be some good options.
- Pencil eyeliners look great! They add more warmth to the overall look.
- Go ahead and try on some good deep browns and greens.
- While playing with eye shadows, softer matte shades can do a good job.
