Lip Balm for a Busy Winter Morning

Disclosure: This post is in collaboration with Kiss Me Honey, the products were sent to me by the brand, but my opinion on them is absolutely genuine and true.

Chapped lips, flaky skin, and dry cuticles are my winter dreads! Regular and timely moisturization is surely the key to happy skin during winters but it isn’t as simple as it sounds. A busy winter morning may not leave you with enough time for self-care, this is when I reach out for a lip balm for most of my skin concerns.

I use a lip balm not only to treat chapped lips but also as a quick fix for dry patches on the skin and sometimes also to prevent blisters from shoes. Now since a lip balm is one of my beauty must-haves, it has to be safe and effective.

Hacks to get rid of dry patches | Winter Skin Care

makeupmagique

Even the slightest of change in temperature has adverse effects on my skin! Specially when the temperature gets cooler. The area around the nose and lips tends to get utterly dry! These dry patches are not only visible but even become painful most of the time. I have been noticing this discomfort since a long time until last year when I met these 2 amazing and simple hacks that cured acute dryness overnite (sometimes even instantly), which NO high end moisturizers or cold creams could do.

If you too notice dry patches and feel nothing works! Here you go…

1. Lip Balm

Yes! you heard it right 😀 Apply your lip balm (I have tried using Nivea and Neutrogena lip balms) on the dry patches. Let it sit for sometime, meanwhile you can proceed with your daily chores…. Or you can also apply it overnite and wake up to a happier skin!

I love this hack. It’s a quick fix. If heading out, you can use a clear lip balm.

P.S: I have tried the tinted lip balms also and they worked very well, but you might just want to test first if your skin is allergic to the stain (though I am sure all females are designed in a way that ‘Color on the face’ can never do any harm 😀 )

2. Coffee & Honey Scrub Pack

On a Sunday Morning when you are in a mood of some self pampering dose, mix in 1 teaspoon of honey with about 1/2 teaspoon of coffee (instant/filter), mix it well and apply the yummy pack on your face. Scrub and massage gently. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse it off. You will thank me for it 😀

P.S: The coffee can be slightly rough so make sure you massage gently with a very light hand.

These 2 hacks are my saviors and I am sure it would work for you as well!

2015 Winter Makeup Favourites

For me winters are too cold to look pretty! This is when my dressing-up-mode gets switched OFF. My hands feel too cold to be patient with the art work on my face… Also, I feel my skin aching to be left alone. My vanity goes on a semi-hibernation and is bought into use only during wedding or parties. Some of my winter makeup essentials are:

1. Maybelline “The Colossal” Liner

It is all I need on my eyes throughout winters. It lasts about 8  hours after which it starts to smudge and loose its intense sharp look. It is absolutely quick and easy to apply letting your hands rush back to those warm gloves!
2. Nivea – Fruit Shine Cherry

A cherry tone and flavour lip balm adds instant brightness to the face and provides the required moisture to refrain your lips from chapping. The colour tint does not last long enough, It stays for about an hour or two. It requires touch-up 2-3 times a day!
3. Nivea Soft Creme

It’s a water based moisturiser and works best for me. It doesn’t feel heavy in the face like other cold creams do. Its absolutely non-sticky. I apply this twice on my face one in the morning, immediately after a bath. And once at night after a refreshing face wash.

This was all about my winter time favourites. You too can put in your thoughts in the comments section below 🙂
